During our past 30 years of working with young people, we have found performing arts to be a natural part of academic learning. Performing instills self-confidence, discipline, and self-esteem – attributes associated with high academic achievers. We believe that all students can increase their academic achievement through participation in the performing arts. They need not be a gifted musician or dancer, but we expect the students to do their best and be open to learning.
Basic Skills!
Students Will Be Introduced To Character-Building Skills
Basic skills will be taught in core areas of reading, math, science, social studies, and language arts (spelling, writing, speaking, and listening). Information technology will be used to support these core areas. Students will have opportunities to attain accomplished skills in the performing arts areas of general music, orchestra strings (4th – 6 th grades), drama, musical theatre, and dance provided by our professional and high-quality instruction. Students will be introduced to character-building skills and will be given opportunities to demonstrate and be recognized for their accomplishments. Our goal is to establish unity and an acceptable set of moral standards, values, and ethics. Self-understanding, self-esteem, and self-respect can result along with an awareness of personal needs and potential.
